Overseas Sindhi Association Holds Its 1st Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Birmingha

The Overseas Sindhi Association (OSA) successfully held its 1st Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 13th September 2025 in Birmingham, United Kingdom. The event marked a significant milestone in the organization’s journey toward community empowerment, unity, and progress.

A New Chapter for the Sindhi Community

The meeting brought together Sindhi professionals, students, and community leaders from across the UK, all united by a shared vision — to preserve Sindhi culture and promote educational, social, and humanitarian development within the community.

Leadership & Vision

The AGM was presided over by Dr. Nazeer Ahmed Dahar, President of OSA, who emphasized the importance of collective efforts in shaping a strong global Sindhi network. He highlighted OSA’s mission to foster educational growth, cultural awareness, and youth engagement through structured initiatives and transparent leadership.

During the session, Mahesh Deep, General Secretary, presented a detailed report on OSA’s objectives, structure, and action plan for the coming year. Other key office bearers, including Saen Bux Patojo (Vice President) and Nisar Ahmed Gilal (Head of Youth Development), shared their visions and upcoming initiatives to support Sindhi youth and families abroad.

Committees and Volunteer Roles

The AGM also announced the formation of several dedicated committees focusing on areas such as:

  • Education & Mentorship
  • Community Projects
  • Event Management
  • Public Relations & Media
  • Website Maintenance and Digital Outreach

Volunteers from various parts of the UK joined hands to serve under these committees, each bringing their expertise and passion to strengthen OSA’s mission.

Key Projects Introduced

The meeting also introduced key community-oriented projects, including:

  • Career Counselling & Mentorship Program – to guide Sindhi youth in career and academic advancement.
  • Habibullah Patojo Educational Academy – aimed at promoting education and scholarships for underprivileged Sindhi students.
  • OSA Relief & Support Program – designed to offer timely assistance to families in need, both locally and overseas.

A Step Toward a Stronger Tomorrow

The 1st AGM symbolized unity, vision, and purpose — setting the foundation for a transparent, inclusive, and forward-looking organization. Through collaboration and shared values, OSA aims to create lasting positive change for Sindhis across the globe.
